Quick Start Guide
I specify products

Architects and designers comparing declarations across manufacturers, and writing EPD requirements into specifications.

I make products

Manufacturers preparing a first declaration: what a PCR requires, who verifies, what it costs, how long it takes.

I work with the data

Engineers and analysts pulling EPD figures into whole-building assessments, procurement models, and Scope 3 accounting.

Terms you’ll meet first

Declared unit
The quantity of product the declaration's figures refer to — 1 m³, 1 tonne, 1 m² at a stated thickness. Two EPDs with different declared units cannot be compared directly.
PCR
Product category rule. The category-specific rulebook that fixes scope, boundaries, and calculation method, so declarations within a category stay consistent.
GWP-fossil
Global warming potential from fossil sources, in kg CO₂-eq. Separated from biogenic and land-use figures under EN 15804+A2.
Module D
Benefits and loads beyond the system boundary — recycling and recovery credits. Reported separately and never netted against A–C.
