About

EPD Central is an independent reference for Environmental Product Declarations, created to make EPD standards, processes, organizations, and data easier to understand and navigate.

About this Site

EPD Central is a reference for understanding Environmental Product Declarations: what they are, how they are created and verified, the standards that govern them, the organizations involved, and what the information inside an EPD means.

The goal is to make reliable information about EPDs easier to find, understand, and compare.

Editorial Independence & Standards

EPD Central is independently published and is not an EPD program operator, verification body, or standards organization.

Content is researched and presented using consistent criteria. The Directory lists organizations alphabetically, without rankings or preferred placement. Where services or approaches are compared, the same criteria are applied to each option.

Our editorial approach is based on three principles: accuracy, transparency, and clarity.

Factual claims are supported by identifiable sources wherever possible. Where information is uncertain, incomplete, or varies by context, we say so rather than presenting assumptions as fact.

Content is written to inform, not to promote a particular provider, methodology, or commercial solution.

Methodology

Data published by EPD Central is sourced wherever possible from primary or authoritative public sources, including program operator registries, published EPDs, standards bodies, and established EPD databases.

Where reliable public data is unavailable, information may be confirmed directly with relevant organizations.

Published figures include their source and an as-of date where appropriate. Individual data pages also describe relevant methodology, including what is included, excluded, or otherwise important when interpreting the figures.

Corrections and feedback

EPD standards, regulations, organizations, and published data change over time.

If you find information that is incorrect, incomplete, or out of date, please get in touch. Corrections, additional sources, and suggestions for improving the site are welcome.
